Tankhouse
Professional Work
Brooklyn, NY
June 2023—October 2024
Founded in 2013 by Sam Alison-Mayne and Sebastian Mendez, Tankhouse is a Brooklyn-based design-development firm that has quickly established itself in the New York architecture and real estate scene. Together with the architecture firm SO-IL, they have developed notable projects such as 450 Warren in Gowanus and 9 Chapel Street in Downtown Brooklyn, along with 144 Vanderbilt Ave in Fort Greene.
I first joined Tankhouse as an intern in June 2023, where I was tasked with developing a unified graphic standard for the firm's projects. In this role, I created marketing renderings for 9 Chapel, full sets of 'lived-in' plans across the firm's portfolio, and a highly detailed perspective section of 450 Warren that I am particularly proud of. I also participated in design reviews and project management for 9 Chapel Street and 144 Vanderbilt, the company's active projects at the time.
Following my internship, I was invited to continue working with Tankhouse remotely throughout my final year at Yale, and later full-time after graduation, before transitioning to ASH in October 2024.
