Founded in 2013 by Sam Alison-Mayne and Sebastian Mendez, Tankhouse is a Brooklyn-based design-development firm that has quickly established itself in the New York architecture and real estate scene. Together with the architecture firm SO-IL, they have developed notable projects such as 450 Warren in Gowanus and 9 Chapel Street in Downtown Brooklyn, along with 134 Vanderbilt Ave in Fort Greene.
I first joined Tankhouse as an intern in June 2023, where I developed a unified graphic standard for all of the firm's projects. In this role, I created marketing renderings for 9 Chapel, full sets of 'lived-in' plans for all of the firm's unique projects, as well as a highly-detailed perspective section of 450 Warren that I am particularly proud of.
Following my internship in Summer 2023, I was hired to continue to design on a part-time, remote basis throughout my final year at Yale, and full-time again in Summer 2024 before beginning my journey with Ash.
